dKart AIS software general description

The core system component is dKart AIS WorkStation software, allowing, among others, such functions as display of AIS targets information on the electronic chart, querying the local AIS database, controlling shore-based stations and exchanging textual messages. Please find the basic dKart AIS WS software specification attached.
AIS data are received via dKart Communicator software, installed on the same PC with dKart AIS WS.
These programs fully provide operation of the local AIS center, with unlimited number of shore-based AIS stations that could be possibly connected to the local center (for instance, Port Maritime Administration) via dKart Communicator software, depending only on the current System configuration and communication line capacity.
We also recommend installing AIS database together with dKart AIS Workstation software in the System control center. dKart Synchronizer program will be used for synchronizing local AIS databases to send information to the Central AIS database. This program traces all changes in local AIS databases and secures their storage into the Central database.
Access to the Central AIS database information for Maritime Administrations of other countries is granted via HELCOM protocol, which is optionally supported by dKart AIS Workstation program.
Another option is real-time AIS data display via Internet available for both the System control center and any local AIS station(s).
